Scope:
Designing a full dinosaur exhibit has to be one of the most intriguing projects I’ll ever work on. With a 16,000 sq ft hall to build out, 26 full-scale animatronic dinosaurs and a strong focus on educational content, Dinosaurs Revealed opened in July 2018, running through March 2019, and entertained over 160,000 visitors.
Working with the Kansas University Paleontology Department as the authentication source, the exhibit explored dinosaur discoveries in America, traveling through the three major epochs in the dinosaur era. It included a hands-on digsite, full size skeletons and fossils, virtual interactives, and demonstrations and presentations at the ‘Paleontologist’s Hangout.
My role was designing and directing the fabrication and installation of the layouts and scenes, (scenic and storytelling) along with curating the dinosaurs, the copy, and art directing the graphics and wayfinding.
