Squamish Valley Music Festival
VIP Hospitality
for Live@Squamish LP
Scope:
The Squamish Valley Music Festival was a must see and be seen destination on the music festival circuit. With its unparalleled location, stadium headliners, and year on year record breaking attendance, it attracted the attention of an elite crowd. Demand grew to include several tiers of VIP hospitality, the pinnacle of which were the private suites attending the Main Stage. These were known as the 'Music Boxes', and were fitted out to host up to twenty guests each, including individual catering and bar service. A 40' h 'Selfie Tower' was erected behind the boxes, giving guests an exclusive photo op and 360º view of the festival site.
Adjacent to the Music Boxes was the Timber Lounge, a more open VIP 'venue' made available to individual and group attendance. Additional VIP lounges attended the main and ancillary stages throughout the site.
In 2015, I was engaged as Creative Director for VIP Hospitality to design the structures, scenic elements and decor for each and all of the on-site VIP experiences, as well as to oversee execution, including sourcing, styling, budget and vendor management.
Additionally, through 2014 and 2015, I was responsible for maintaining festival site plans and ancillary CAD drawings. (These aren't particularly visually stimulating, but are a core tool for production management, and include staging and structural drawing details, vendor and department breakouts, and licensing and permitting plans.)
